Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Popular California Coast
A helicopter soaring near a well-attended coastal coastline abruptly started spinning uncontrollably, finally losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm trees as onlookers observed.
Footage posted on the internet show the aircraft starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling towards the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters reported five people were rushed to the hospital involving a pair who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Details on their condition were not yet released.
