Tuchel Criticizes Wembley Crowd Support Following Dominant Wales Victory.

The England head coach expressed his disappointment that the England team did not receive stronger backing from the Wembley crowd during their decisive friendly win against Wales on Thursday night.

Tuchel was pleased to see his side continue their strong performance, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Watkins, and Saka inside the opening quarter settling the contest. But, he was not content with the mood at the national stadium.

“With limited training days to prepare against a drilled team and we performed excellently,” the coach stated. “We could have been five goals ahead at half-time. We missed the additional goals. There was little noise. There was no support from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you give in 20 minutes? We prevented them escape. If you hear just the Welsh supporters for half an hour, it’s sad because the squad deserved greater backing today.”

“I maintain my words. We cannot do more than leading three goals up in a rivalry match. I hoped for a greater support in phases where it gets difficult.”

“After halftime, to support us, there was excessive backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to refocus, but that’s football and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Display

Apart from potentially starting a dispute among supporters, Tuchel also raised eyebrows by leaving out Bellingham and Foden from his team selection. However the choice was validated by Morgan Rogers excelling in the No 10 position and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“He is what he is,” the head coach explained. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is vying for his place.”

Wales Manager Seeks Improvement from Loss

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that Wales, who host Belgium in a important World Cup qualifier on next week, learn from their awful first-half display.

“This is why I wanted this friendly,” Bellamy said. “I need to see our standing. What are our ambitions? Who do we want to be? Today gives me inspiration.”

Injury Concern for Watkins

Watkins was substituted at half-time after colliding with a post and may miss out when England face their next opponents in Riga in a qualifier on Tuesday.
